In a major supply and construction contract from Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) for the Maitree super thermal power project in Bangladesh, TAKRAF India is currently installing three rail-mounted grab ship unloaders and four full portal scraper reclaimers.

Ready to serve vessels up to 25,000 DWT, the ship unloaders each boast a capacity of 1,700 t/h; whilst the twin boom portal reclaimers each boast a capacity of 1,250 t/h and a main boom length of more than 37 m.

With all hands on deck with construction, it is anticipated that all machines will be commissioned and handed over in a phased manner during 2022.

K. Gopal, Managing Director: TAKRAF India, had this to say recently regarding the project: “This is the first time TAKRAF is supplying machines for this project and it is an honour that our technologies were selected for such an important development in Bangladesh. Congratulations to the entire TAKRAF India team for this major project award from a globally respected Indian state-owned engineering and manufacturing enterprise. We look forward to our machines being put into operation and delivering upon their design promise!”
