Belt feeders are short belt conveyors that are specifically designed for material flow regulation, extracting material from one area and ensuring that downstream equipment receives the appropriate volume
These short conveyors are employed to extract material under dump hoppers or material bins and convey material to downstream equipment for processing or onward transport. Belt feeder design thus needs to consider all specific requirements determined by the material being moved, as well as capacity and geometry.
TAKRAF feeders combine a reinforced belt, robust heavy-duty idlers and frames with liners and chute work. Our diverse product range covers standardized belt feeders, as well as specific heavy-duty feeders with large handling capacities exceeding 8,800 t/h.
Depending on site and/or client specific requirements, we are able to preassemble machines in our specialized fabrication facility and ship in large pieces to site.
For applications where the material to be conveyed is lumpy, abrasive, heavy, high temperature, or where a feeding solution more robust than a belt feeder is required, a TAKRAF apron feeder is then recommended.
Customer Project Name Belt feeder underneath surge bin Codelco Radomiro Tomic Sulfurus 2010
Belt feeder underneath surge bin
TAKRAF delivered the belt feeder as part of a complete crushing and conveying system for Codelco. The belt feeder extracts the crushed copper ore from surge bin and feeds it on to overland conveyor.

Apron FeedersAn apron feeder is a reliable feeding method for when the material to be conveyed is lumpy, abrasive, heavy, high temperature, or where a feeding solution more robust than a traditional belt feeder is required. Apron feeders are designed to feed material at a desired volumetric rate to downstream equipment and convey material on a series of overlapping pans attached to multiple strands of a heavy tractor crawler-type chain.
Belt Conveyors - for mining applicationsBelt conveyor systems continuously transport all forms of material, including excavated and crushed rock, in an efficient manner due to their 100% effective availability. They cover a wide range of applications, from mining or extraction to in-plant or overland where they convey material over long distances, passing through curves and rough relief areas.
Mobile Conveyor BridgesMobile Conveyor Bridges (MCBs) operate as flexible links between mining machines and bench conveyors and increase the operating range of the system.
Mobile Transfer ConveyorsMobile Transfer Conveyors (MTCs) are "multi use" equipment that are used to both increase performance and flexibility of many mining operations. Mobile transfer conveyors work as a flexible connection between a mining machine and bench conveyors. Moreover, mobile transfer conveyors are easily relocatable and positionable, improving performance, flexibility and efficiency.
