A recent order for four high-rate thickeners highlights the increasing demand from Ukrainian mining and industrial operations for DELKOR liquid/solid separation technologies. The order, received earlier in the year from Engineering Dobersek, a leading engineering company and EPC contractor in the region, was placed as a result of the successful supply of 3 similar DELKOR high-rate thickeners, also to Engineering Dobersek, for a mining and processing plant’s modernized slurry thickening complex. The 62 m-diameter thickener mechanisms will be used to thicken iron ore tailings, prior to being pumped to settling ponds. The thickeners offer a particularly high throughput of up to 22,500 m³/h thanks to the DELKOR proprietary feed well technology and decade long process expertise.
The high-rate thickeners were ordered as part of the modernization of the iron ore tailings facility, with the new process waste thickening complex being the second of its kind to be established in Ukraine - the first having been the aforementioned three thickener project. The greenfield plant aims at decreasing environmental impact and costs by lowering energy consumption and water usage.
