Our time in Las Vegas was educational and constructive as we showcased our Group’s global capabilities and ability to deliver, together with engaging with the rest of the mining industry and diving deeper into some of the specific mining, material handling and minerals processing issues we are all facing.
Despite the COVID-related challenges we continue to face, a dedicated contingent of exhibitors and visitors came together to make this an incredible show of mining’s technological advancement. Several notable engineering houses were in contact with us to discuss both early-stage and fully-funded projects, and our project managers were able to meet with existing vendors eager to discuss our current and upcoming supply needs. In addition, plant managers made great use of our service personnel in attendance, discussing inspections and methods of improving maintenance in their existing operations.
During the show, TAKRAF hosted a well-attended technical seminar on the mega Chuquicamata gearless conveyor system project, giving insight into how the Group overcame a variety of technical challenges and achieved a number of world firsts. In addition, a technical seminar on Dry Stack Tailings (DST) proved very timely, as there were many inquiries throughout the show about DELKOR equipment and dewatering processes in general. These included clients from North and South America looking to discuss both greenfield and brownfield projects.
The importance of good people cannot be overstated. Here at TAKRAF Group, we would like to give special thanks to our employees worldwide who put in the time to make this possible and contribute to the event’s success. Engineering leads, field service experts, project managers and senior executives to name but a few came to lend a hand at MINExpo this year.
Hopefully you had a chance to meet some of these great people in Las Vegas. If not, our next major North American event is SME 2022 to be held in Salt Lake City from 27 Feb to 2 March – look for more info here! (SME Annual Conference & Expo | 2022)
