Blood donation and blood banks are vital wherever they may be. In areas where a large population of poor and needy reside, ensuring access to life-saving resources for those in need now becomes critical. Such blood banks promote community solidarity and encourage individuals to support one another during emergencies. Additionally, these facilities help raise awareness about health and wellness, fostering a culture of altruism and care. Ultimately, they empower the community by providing essential services that can significantly improve health outcomes.
Upon this humbling experience, Rajiv Krishnamurthy had this to say at the event: “The Ravi Kirloskar Memorial Hospital is a prime location for such a blood bank as it is surrounded by many Employee State Insurance (ESI) hospitals and other multi-specialty hospitals in the area. There is also a large availability of donors and a large number of blood donation camps, which are arranged by a number of social groups, including Rotary Udyog. The blood bank will be operated by Indian Red Cross Society, which plays a crucial role in operating blood banks across the country, ensuring a steady supply of safe blood for patients in need. The Society adheres to stringent safety standards and protocols, ensuring that all donated blood is thoroughly tested and safe for transfusion. We, as DELKOR India and through our TAKRAF Group Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Initiative are proud to support this noble cause and witness the impact on the society locally.”
