A complex and large-scale value chain
Aluminum production involves multiple stages, from the mining of bauxite through to the refining into alumina and smelting of alumina into aluminum.
Bauxite ore is typically mined close to the surface in large-scale operations and then transported to refineries for further processing. Such operations are often located in remote regions, where infrastructure plays a critical role in ensuring the efficient and reliable transport of large material volumes.
