Belt Linear Screens

The DELKOR belt linear screen is primarily suited to scalping coarse oversize or trash material from process slurries. Vacuum assisted operation is available as an enhanced option.

The DELKOR belt linear screen was developed through extensive test work to solve a major problem in the CIP/CIL process – the effective removal of waste material from slurries.

The unit is capable of screening between 150 and 2,000 microns, and is widely accepted by the mining industry for the removal of tramp material from fine mineral or chemical slurries.

The DELKOR belt linear screen operates with no vibration. This prevents realignment of oversize material with the cloth aperture, ensuring retention of all oversize material. This results in 98.1 % removal of wood fibre as measured on site by a mining group’s research laboratory.

Belt linear screen in gold mine

The 25 m² DELKOR belt linear screen for the Hidden Valley De-Bottlenecking project at Hidden Valley Gold Mine performs well under conditions of large flow surges and at times excess coarse particles as a result of constant cyclone roping.

The belt linear screens incorporate some new features that allow them to better handle these surges and, as a result, this unit has been able to cope with these adverse conditions. The tramp oversize removal screen has also had a positive impact on the flotation circuit, which is immediately downstream. By reducing tramp oversize build up on the froth discharge lips, the circuit has seen a reduction in the amount of reagents (frother, promoter, collector, and copper sulphate).

In addition, no additional tramp oversize is being added to the carbon-in-leach (CIL) and elution circuits further downstream, and further benefits for these circuits are expected from the screen installation once the tramp oversize currently in those circuits is removed.

  • Efficiency

    • We design, fabricate and supply a wide-range of belt linear screens that are capable of screening between 150 µm and 2,000 µm and are widely accepted by the mining industry for the removal of tramp material from fine mineral or chemical slurries
    • Primarily suited to scalping coarse oversize material from process slurries
    • Zero vibration operation prevents realignment of oversize material with the cloth aperture, ensuring retention of all oversize material
  • Digitalization

    • Our belt linear screens were developed as a result of extensive test work emanating from a requirement to solve a major problem in the Carbon-in-Pulp (CIP)/Carbon-in-Leach (CIL) process - the effective removal of waste material from slurry
