High-capacity double roll crushers for efficient material handling
TAKRAF Double Roll Crushers are designed for high capacities and are driven by powerful drive units in order to crush hard or ductile material without stalling. The crushing process creates a minimum of fines in the product and handles sticky and/or wet material without clogging of the rolls. The machines can be employed for medium hard material types up to 200 MPa compressive strength.
Advanced protection and safety features of double roll crushers
TAKRAF Group has developed and successfully installed the largest roll crushers worldwide for the oil sands industry, in order to guarantee highest throughput requirements under extreme conditions.
Double roll crushers are often fed by apron feeders that direct feed material between a fixed and a moveable roll. The two crusher rolls rotate inward and crush the material between the teeth. The gap between the rolls is adjustable in order to control the size of the product material.
If tramp or uncrushable material is fed to the crusher, one hydraulically supported roll (moveable roll) disengages or releases temporarily to let the foreign material pass through and then returns to its normal position to resume operation. If the foreign material is unable to pass through, the moveable roll remains in its extended position while sending a signal to stop the feeding process. In addition, a safety coupling reacts in the event of shock loads.

TAKRAF Double Roll Crushers feature 1,500 kW drives to help process large frozen lumps. The 21 t flywheel provides increased inertia to power through ductile material.

Easy segment changeout
The TAKRAF Double Roll Crusher has 12 segments along the circumference. These smaller segments are easier to handle, especially if TAKRAF specialty maintenance tools are included with the crushing plant.
