DELKOR High Rate Thickeners & Clarifiers, Argentina-Chile border
14 x DELKOR high-rate thickeners and clarifiers for Barrick Gold's Pascua Lama Project, which straddles the Chile/Argentina border and is located in the high Andes at 4,000 m. The equipment ranged in size from 34 m to 62 m diameter in free standing and ground mounted tanks fabricated from stainless steel and rubber & polyurethane lined mild steel.

Project Details
The project required innovative technical solutions to cope with the installation and working conditions at high altitude, such as oxygen deprivation, sub-zero temperatures, and wind speeds of 160 km/h. The latest DELKOR components were used in combination with DELKOR's unique Feedwell design, which enables high dilution volumes and efficient mixing and settling, and features a floating sludge recovery system. This Feedwell design has proven track record in reducing flocculant consumption, a factor that is extremely important for any high-tonnage application.
