DELKOR High Density Thickener - Moquegua Peru
6 x 46 m diameter DELKOR high-density thickening plants (3 x 46 m to replace 3 x 99 m thickeners and 3 x 46 m for the expansion project from 60 ktpd to 120 ktpd) together with peripheral systems, including: Shear dilution devices, flocculant plant (1,200 kg/d) and water recovery pumps, as well as basic and detailed design work for the corresponding thickeners. In addition, the project also included the delivery of four additional DELKOR thickeners (three with a diameter of 40 m and one with a diameter of 18 m) for concentrate applications for the expansion project.

Project Details
The thickeners are needed to recover water from copper waste and return it to the concentrator plant. The thickeners achieved a performance of 64% solids in the underflow, as measured by Southern Peru Copper's metallurgy team at design flow rate – the offered design performance for solids output was 64%.
