TAKRAF Heartfelt Projects: Personal check handovers and ongoing commitment

Over the past few months, we had the opportunity to present two of the three donation checks from our Heartfelt Projects initiative in person. A great opportunity to highlight this year’s meetings and the importance of our community engagement. Internally, employees have already selected the next round of Heartfelt Projects, and the check handover will begin in 2026.

At TAKRAF Group, we believe that social engagement begins right where we work and live. Through various initiatives, we support local projects around the world and empower our employees to get involved. One key initiative is our annual Heartfelt Projects program, which has become an established part of our company culture at TAKRAF Germany.

Heartfelt Projects: Personal check handovers and real impact

The Heartfelt Projects program gives #TeamTAKRAF at TAKRAF GmbH the opportunity to nominate nonprofit organizations and initiatives that matter personally to them. After the nominations are presented on our intranet, all employees in Germany cast their votes. The three organizations with the most votes each receive a donation of € 1,500.

The Heartfelt Projects selected for 2024 were:

Sine the selection process concluded late in 2024, the personal check handovers took place throughout this year. These personal encounters once again reminded us how valuable direct support is for the organizations.

At Leipziger Parkeisenbahn (Leipzig Park Railway), the funds will be used for maintenance, technical equipment and fuel for operations. The Lugala Freundeskreis (Lugala Friendship Circle) will use the donation to improve emergency care, including an ambulance for the Lugala Lutheran Hospital in Tanzania. 

The symbolic check handover to Grünewalder Feuerwehrverein (Volunteer Fire Association) is still pending, as no joint date has been found so far. It will of course take place as soon as possible.

Looking ahead: The next round has begun 

Employees have already selected the new Heartfelt Projects internally, and the organizations will receive their donation checks next year.

No matter the year, our direction remains clear: With these projects close to our hearts, we strive for transparency, encourage full-team participation and demonstrate shared solidarity in action.

Our broad commitment to the community

Beyond the Heartfelt Projects, we consistently support local organizations and associations in Leipzig and Lauchhammer, including:

  • Annual donation to the Bärenherz Children’s Hospice in Leipzig
  • Multi-year support for Leipziger Food Bank to help fund a refrigerated delivery vehicle
  • Supporting memberships for regional associations in and around Lauchhammer
  • Funding toward a vehicle for the City of Lauchhammer
  • Sponsorship of the F60 Triathlon organized by the Triathlon Team Senftenberg at the F60 in Lichterfeld
