Overland Conveyor System Utkal Alumina
The TAKRAF overland conveyor system for the Utkal Alumina Project is the longest single flight conveyor in India at 19 km. Bauxite is transported from the Baphlimali mines to a 4.5 mtpa alumina plant through challenging terrain via two conveyors of 14.5 km and 3.6 km, with a 230 m drop and 45 crossings.
